Sitting with a neighbor, talking about art
or such things that would
help us
forget we may be
on the opposite end
of a political battle
being fought
a few
yards away.
I just want to hear a voice on the other side of the fence when the electricity is down.
I also cherish those friends on the other side of the fence .. or in my case, two and three doors down.

Where I live, I never bring up politics. Instead, there's lots of talk about all the rain and how hard it is to get the grass mowed.
ReplyDeletehaving good neighbors makes all the difference in the world...even if you have different opinions.....that makes it all the better some times...
ReplyDeleteAmazing things happen when the power goes down. Ordinary suppers become candlelight adventures. Conversations with other people. Different, but good.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
